Accessibility Statement

Effective date: May 16, 2026  ·  Last updated: May 16, 2026

Our commitment

ThinkBudgets is committed to making our website and app usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the international standard adopted by U.S. courts and regulators as a benchmark for accessible web design.

What we’ve done

  • Semantic HTML throughout — headings, landmarks, lists, and navigation are marked up so screen readers can announce structure.
  • All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text.
  • Form fields are explicitly associated with their labels.
  • The site is keyboard-navigable; interactive elements receive visible focus indicators.
  • Text colors meet WCAG AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
  • The site responds to text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or function.
  • The site is responsive and works on mobile screen readers (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android).

Known limitations

We’re a small team and audit accessibility continuously rather than as a one-time review. Some known limitations:

  • Auto-generated charts (donut, sankey) on shared budget pages may be difficult for screen readers to interpret without sighted help; the same data is available in the table view below the chart.
  • The loan calculator's amortization table can be lengthy; we provide a "show schedule" toggle so it isn't always rendered, but it has not yet been optimized for screen reader navigation.

We're actively working on these and welcome feedback.

Report an issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on ThinkBudgets — anything that makes the site harder for you to use — please send us a note through our contact form and start the subject line with "Accessibility" so we can route it quickly. Tell us:

  • The page or feature where you ran into a problem (URL helps)
  • What didn't work as expected
  • What assistive technology you were using, if any

We take accessibility complaints seriously and will respond within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 5 business days). Where a fix isn't immediately possible, we'll offer an alternative way to access the information or feature.

Alternative formats

If you need any content from this site in an alternative format — including large print, plain text, a transcript, or other accommodations — send us a note through our contact form and we'll work with you.

Updates to this statement

We review this statement as we ship new features and after any user-reported accessibility issues. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent review.
